About
The photographic side of HIgh View began trading under the name BusyPictures in
2023, after a quiet period in the life of the of the partnership, which was brought
about by illness - now fully recovered.
Our photography is mainly of the natural and documentary variety: preferably with
human interest to the fore. We note that Wikipedia describes documentary
photography as having a very wide gamut, and quote it here:
“Documentary photography usually refers to a popular form of photography used to chronicle events or
environments both significant and relevant to history and historical events as well as everyday life. It is
typically undertaken as professional photojournalism, or real life reportage, but it may also be an
amateur, artistic, or academic pursuit.”
We do very little advertising and usually prefer word of mouth recommendations rather than
heavy marketing. We are currently trying-out “Bark” for possible contacts.
The increased sensitivity towards photographing people, that has been brought about by the rapid
rise in image making, display, and transmission facilities of modern times makes us wary of
infringing individual rights. Our understanding of the many laws governing photography and
privacy is summed-up in the right “not to have work issued to the public” by those who
commission and pay for the pictures to be taken. Whilst the ownership of negatives and computer
files of images remains entirely the photographer’s the reproduction rights are those of the
person commissioning the work.
There are numerous grey areas regarding privacy in the various regulations, and in peoples’ own
minds. We earnestly desire to save ourselves and our customers the slightest offence - or the
huge expense of going to law - and we will tread carefully in this area and respect our clients’
wishes for privacy throughout.

In summary it’s telling a story ~ and recording it for the future.
We do very little advertising and usually prefer word of mouth
recommendations rather than heavy ~ and expensive ~ marketing. We are

has been brought about by the rapid rise in image making, display, and
transmission facilities of modern times. We do not subscribe to any social
media, and all displayed work on the web (except this site) is in password
protected folders.
